New Delhi: Asserting that the talks with Pakistan must take place, former External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid on Monday said that the government must take responsibility for any decision that it takes on the bilateral talks.
” Talks have to happen, must happen but you can’t just say definitive yes or no. It depends on the gut feeling and factual situation before the government,” Khurshid told ANI.
“Ultimately government must take a position on what is minimum it expects from Pakistan before talks continue, then government must take responsibility for taking that decision,” he added.
Following the terror attack on the Pathankot air base, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has asked the Intelligence Bureau (IB) chief Aftab Sultan to form a joint investigation team comprising the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Military Intelligence (MI).
This was followed by raids at Gujranwala, Jhelum and Bahawalpur districts of Pakistan leading to some arrests of unspecified number of people. (ANI)
