Hyderabad, December 23: The talks between Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and leaders of political parties at an all party meeting convened by the state government failed to break the ice after the opposition TDP and Left parties walked out.
The all-party meeting was convened by the state government to discuss the farmers problems and the package announced by the Chief Minister in the Assembly.
Talking to reporters at the secretariat, TDP politburo member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said the party walked out after Mr Reddy refused to reconsider the TDP demands.
He castigated the government for allegedly behaving in a ‘reckless’ manner when its President N Chandrababu Naidu was on an indefinite fast.
The demands raised by the party were confined to the farmers, he said and added it was brought out after carefully studying the reports of Agriculture Scientist M S Swaminathan, Group of Chief Minister and Jayath Gosh Committee. He said Mr Reddy had only stated in the meet that his government had written a letter to the Centre on TDP’s demands.
