Kabul, May 03: A car laden with explosives has hit a convoy of Afghan forces, near a foreign troops base, wounding one Afghan in the town of Khost in southeastern Afghanistan.
Taliban Spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the bomber used a car laden with a huge quantity of explosives in the blast.
“There was a suicide car bomb near a NATO facility in Khost city. So far at this stage, we only know that one local person has been injured,” said local government Spokesman Mubariz Zadran.
“The bomber detonated near a water-tanker that was entering the base.”
The foreign and Afghan forces cordoned off the scene of the attack.
The explosion occurred outside the NATO base near the border with Pakistan’s tribal belt, where seven CIA agents were killed last year. The attack on the CIA agents was one of the deadliest blows ever against the CIA, which was occurred in a room described as a gym.
