Kabul, July 08: Taliban militants have launched a rocket attack in eastern Afghanistan, killing at least six civilians and injuring several others, Afghans officials say.
The attack targeted a market in eastern Paktia province on Thursday.
Taliban have not yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
Taliban-led violence has recently increased in Afghanistan, with militants targeting both military personnel and civilians.
The Taliban have regularly murdered tribal leaders accused of colluding with the government or US-led forces.
The continuous killing of civilians by foreign forces and Taliban has caused deep resentment among the Afghan population. Violence killed over 2,400 civilians in Afghanistan last year.
