Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav today directed officials concerned to provide membership to 18 years of fishermen under integrated fisheries development scheme. He also asked to prepare a plan in week days involving private parties for fisheries development and think upon an SEZ for the purpose. Set up an expert committee with private parties for fisheries development and enable the fishermen get more revenue he said.
The Minister conducted a review meeting at Secretariat and asked to give membership to the eligible fishermen with 18 years age and help them benefit through fish scheme by the government. We are spending crores of funds and it is necessary to involve private parties for fisheries development and fishermen in a big way he said. He also said to produce more fish that was in demand in the market and provide necessary facilities. The fishermen will be offered 75 per cnt subsidy of two wheelers, mopeds, trally autos, mobile outlets and insulated trucks for marketing and selling of the produce. He also asked a report and steps to avoid delay in implementing insurance on subsidy sheep. (NSS)
