Animal Husbandry & Fisheries Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today dropped fish seedlings into Nagarjuna Sagar Dam here.
Speaking to mediapersons on the occasion, the minister said the scheme was aimed at boosting income of fishermen’s community members. Srinivas Yadav also slammed the Congress and other Opposition parties for finding fault with the scheme. He claimed that the fishermen’s community will get remunerative price to their fish produce in the open market. The government was making efforts setting up market sheds in districts and mandals, he said.
The minister said the scheme of fish dropping will rejuvenate the people relying on the fisheries production and sale. The State government has launched several schemes to make the State into Bangaru Telangana by providing all help to the poor, community-based professions to restart their professions, he said. Besides fisheries scheme giving complete subsidy to the community, the department also launched sheep rearing scheme to boost income of Yadavas in the State in a big way, he said.
Talasani also cited several schemes like Mission Bhagiratha giving safe drinking waters and internet facility in villages. Mission Kakatiya is a successful scheme as it refilled all the tanks, reservoirs and water bodies in villages and promoting the farm activity. Double bedroom scheme is another best scheme in the country as the government plans to give them free of cost. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao plans to provide housing facility to the poor, including one lakh in the city and more than one lakh in districts. He also cited KCR Kits scheme and revitalized the government hospitals and gave confidence among the women. The women on delivery are getting Rs 12,000 to Rs 13,000 and availing KCR Kits, he said, adding that girls marriage schemes are fetching expected results. (NSS)
