Hyderabad: Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav today assured of taking all steps to resolve the problems of shepherd in the state. Along with Finance Minister E Rajender, MLA Srinivas Goud and others held a meeting with state shepherd cooperative union leaders.
Speaking on the occasion he said that the government will conduct another meeting on May 13 with stakeholders to find a solution. The state government is spending huge money for the welfare of all categories and will do so for shepherd community he said. The union informed to the minister that though the Center allotted Rs 398 cr loans to them and yet to release funds including 20 per cent of subsidy which the state should bear. They also sought increase in loan limit from Rs 5 lakh to above based on the projects being taken up, reduce age limit for shepherd pension from 60 years to 50 years and allocation of 100 acres for fodder and grazing in the fields.
