The State Government will take deterrent action against those evading taxes, Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav warned today.
During a high-level review meeting at the Secretariat, Talasani directed the officials to crackdown on the tax evaders of any stature and collect taxes besides booking cases. The minister asked the officials to act swiftly and take immediate action against the tax evaders. He also sought to know about present mood of the big businessmen and asked them to act tough for initiating stringent action against tax evaders. Yadav expressed concern over the big businessmen and industrialists for not paying taxes and filing returns, it is learnt.
The minister also directed the officials to take immediate action and collect taxes from the evaders besides booking cases. The minister said modern check-posts will be set up at a cost of Rs 80 crore at Taluru in Nizamabad and Boraj in Adilabad district. He also said similar in-house check posts with modern facilities will be set up at Kodad, Palvancha, Ashwaraopet, Tunga Bhadra and so on. (NSS)
