Hyderabad: The judgment of the heinous crime of rape and murder occurred in Bhavani Nagar, Talabkatta on 11th August last year will be pronounced today. It may be mentioned that a minor girl was missing from Talabkatta Aman Nagar (B) area. She had gone to bring vegetables from the nearby shop. Her mother Naseem Begum had lodged a complaint in Bhavani Nagar police station.
South Zone Police constituted six special teams for investigation. Police got clue from the local CCTV footage based on it police arrested Mohammed Dastagir (21), fruit merchant. During interrogation, he confessed the crime. He stated that when the girl was returning home after buying vegetables, he molested her and took her to a nearby house which was under construction. When the girl started crying for help, he strangled her throat and killed her. He dumped her dead body in the sump. In order to save his skin from doubt, he participated in the burial ceremony of the girl.
On suspicion, police arrested and gave him under judicial custody. Police filed chargesheet and decided to start the case in fast track court. The hearing of the case continued at the court of 1st Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge, Nampally. Statements of 24 witnesses were recorded. After the hearing of public prosecutor, the judge announced that the judgment of this case will be pronounced today.
