Hyderabad: CPI Telangana Secretary Ch Venkat Reddy today complained to the 11 member CEC Om Prakash Rawath team to take stringent action against those officials who caused bogus list of voters. The EC team is in Hyderabad for a three day visit to take fresh stock of electioneering arrangements across 31 districts.
Talking to press persons after a talk with the CEC team, the CPI leader urged free and fair polls that sans any sort of luring and influence by the ruling party and its leaders. The CPI asked the EC to set up a vigilance wing in every segment going for polls. He said that the CPI has complained about illegal flow of money of Rs 2000 per vote and liquor to lure the voters. ‘We have appealed to the EC to put a tab on the money and liquor flow and take serious action. There was no action against those who were caught red handed with money earlier and this time the EC was asked to take action’ he said.

BJP leader N Indrasena Reddy today sought CEC Om Prakash Rawath to take immediate action to remove bogus voters from the electoral list in Telangana going for polls on Dec 7. Reddy told reporters after a meeting with EC team here that the local officials failed to remove bogus voters from the list despite repeated appeals. The BJP leader urged the EC to check ambulances and vehicles supplying money to ATMs across the state to check illegal money. ‘We have urged earlier on the same issue and the election officials are not taking action’ he said. He complained to the EC as to why the election officials served notices to the BJP leaders and did not serve the same to TRS MP Kavitha for pasting Bathukamma posters. He also urged for action against the officials who prevented the Bathukamma festival celebrations at Charminar and regular up-dation of election website.
