Karachi: Mohammad Amir became the first bowler to claim a hat-trick in the Pakistan Super League as Karachi Kings comfortably defeated Lahore Qalandars by eight wickets at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday.
Qalandars were reduced to 125 for eight after Amir thwarted the Azhar Ali-led team’s attempts of a late flourish with three consecutive wickets. The left-hand pace bowler removed Dwayne Bravo, Zohaib Khan and Kevon Cooper in the 19th over of the innings, the Dawn reported.
Meanwhile, Kings chased down the paltry target inside 16 overs, thanks to Lendl Simmons (62) and Shakib Al Hasan (52).
The 23-year-old fast bowler served a five-year ban alongside Salman Butt and Mohammad Asif for their infamous role in the 2010 spot-fixing scandal.
He made his first international appearance during the recently concluded series against New Zealand after completing his international banishment. (ANI)
