Tahawwur Rana was in Mumbai before 26/11 attacks

Mumbai, November 16: As the American agency Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has been cracking terror links of US national David Coleman Headley and his aide, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative Tahawwur Rana, more disturbing information is coming out. Rana was in Mumbai 14 days before the November 26, 2008 attacks.

During his visit to India, Rana also stayed in Kochi’s Taj Hotel along with his wife. Rana was visiting Kochi on a business visa. His passport shows that he arrived in India on November 12 last year, a fortnight before the Mumbai attacks.

The terror suspect placed advertisements in newspapers which aimed to recruit locals for jobs in the US. The advertisement said it would help in immigration.

“Our principal world famous immigration consultant Dr Rana from Chicago is in your town,” the job ad stated. The advertisement also gave two mobile numbers one of them was an international one.

Rana was helped by a local named Sameer. Local intelligence has records of Sameer which show that he had terror links. Interestingly, Rana’s wife Samraj Akhtar also accompanied him during the visit.
