While welcoming five lakh insurance scheme to 5.80 lakh auto and other all types of drivers by profession, Telangana Auto Drivers Joint Action Committee (TADJAC) requested the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to implement health insurance scheme to auto drivers as was promised in the TRS election manifesto.
Mohd. Amanullah Khan, J. Ravender, M.A. Saleem and Azeemuddin leaders of the JAC, in a joint press statement, thanked KCR for fulfilling his promises one by one after exemption of MV Tax on autos.
They recalled that the auto drivers in twin cities have been demanding for ex-gratia in case of driver’s accidental death or permanent disability, for the last 45 years. They said that the auto drivers’ demand has been granted by the TRS government by announcing five lakh insurance.
They said the Committee has already decided to observe October 16 as “Drivers Day” every year, the day on which Tax Exemption on both passenger and goods autos G.O was issued. The drivers would celebrate the day in the entire Telangana State and in support of TRS government and they have plans to weigh KCR in coins in the city, they informed. (NSS)
