Tackle Traffic & Pollution Problems in City

Telangana Auto Drivers JAC has demanded the Government to tackle the worsening traffic situation and growing pollution in the city on a priority basis by formulating short term and long term measures without further delay.  In this connection, the committee has also demanded the government to ban private cars carrying less then three persons and if necessary implement even-odd formula to save the citizens from frequent traffic jams. Besides, the committee demanded the government to ban new diseal-run cars and cabs and those already registered to convert them into LPG / CNG as fuel and to fix a deadline for this purpose, to control dangerous pollution levels in the city.

           

Mohd. Amanullah Khan, convenor, addressing the media at NSS here today, appreciated the KCR government for pulling down the illegal buildings built on nalas and river-beads and for assuring the public to take up immediate repairs of the damaged roads soon after rains stopped, but added that it is a matter of great regret and concern that no action plan is being formulated to tackle the worsening traffic situation and growing pollution in the city.

    

He demanded the Transport Minister P. Mahender Reddy to resign from his post since he has miserably failed to fix Ola & Ubar Cab rates and to stop their looting the passengers in the name of surged pricing.  He also demanded the TRS government to suspend the Transport Commissioner Sandeep Kumar Sultania immediately for harassing the auto drivers in the name of RTA Online Services by not increasing adequate number of slot bookings and thereby delay in RTA transactions from 8 to 10 days.
