APCC Chief Botcha Satyanarayana has said that separate Telangana State would have been carved out already had the Telugu Desam party gave a letter to the Centre in favor of Telangana State.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, Botcha clarified as the Congress was the ruling party it cannot give any letter to that effect. Reiterating that the Congress would solve the problem if TDP sends a letter to the Centre, Botcha said the main Opposition party was contemplating to give such a letter to the Centre on for political gain.
He said that the issue may take a U turn again though the TDP submitted a letter to the Union government. “We have to wait and see whether the Congress would solve the problem or not after TDP gave the letter to the Centre.
Asked about Rajya Sabha member K. Chiranjeevi’s remarks in V Hanumantha Rao’s “Save Congress” meeting, the PCC chief said the Congress was very safe and there was no problem to the ruling party as feared byu some people. Stating that Chiranjeevi’s comments were not objectionable, Botcha said the party would not be affected by any body.
Indirectly criticizing Chiranjeevi, he said those who had pledged to bury the Congress themselves joined the party.
Responding to TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu’s Padayatra, Botcha said that he was a responsible leader of Opposition and has to know the problems of the people of the State.
Responding to the YSRCP’s criticism against the Congress, Botcha said that party (YSRCP) betrayed the Congress by indulging in criticism against Congress.
