As “Bus Yatra” failed to evoke public support and instead invited criticism from TRS leadership, Telangana Telugu Desam leaders are now planning a two-day tour to Delhi on October 18 and 19. Left with no other option, they are likely to take up power crisis and farmers’ problems with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The TDP leaders, who invited wrath from the ruling TRS leaders and the government alike, are pinning hopes that the Centre would come to the rescue on power crisis. It is learnt that they sought an appointment form PMO to call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to apprise him of the power crisis and problems of the farmers’ suicides.
It may be noted that the TDP leaders of Telangana could not ask Naidu to ensure supply of power from projects to Telangana as is being sought by TRS leaders. They are equally worried on power crisis and farmers suicides which are being attributed to conspiracies of Chandrababu Naidu and failure of Congress and TDP governments to construct power projects in Telangana.
At this juncture, the two-day trip to Delhi is to be made fructified, they feel. They are of the opinion that the PM will extend help in this regard. Being the ally of the BJP at the Centre, the TDP leadership is pressing the Telangana leaders to National capital to pursue the issue, it is learnt. At the directive of TDP Chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, the leaders are planning on a two-day sojourn. (NSS)
