Hyderabad: The TTDP has demanded the State government to extend Rs.40,000 compensation per acre to chilli, Rs.30,000 compensation per acre to corn, cotton and soya crops lost due to heavy rains immediately.
Speaking to the media at NTR Trust Bhavan here on Saturday, TDP leaders A Revanth Reddy, Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy and Sathyam have asked the TRS government, which was telling that the financial condition of the state was robust, to tell as to why it was not waiving off the farmers loans at one go. Earlier 16 Chief Ministers of the State had brought Rs.60,000 in the form of debts, but the present Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao alone brought more than one lakh crore debts within two and half years tenure.
They said that the Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao, who was stating that all the projects were fully filled with water, has forgotten the fact that Nagarjuna Sagar project needs 300 more TMCFT of water to fill totally. Presently, Nagarjuna Sagar had only 190 TMCFT of water, he said questioning Harish Rao tell as to how the latter would say that all the projects reached to their full capacity level.
Stating that it was atrocious on the part of KCR to send the officer on leave for issuing notices to eight fake seed companies including Kaveri Seeds and appointed new officer in place of her, the TTDP leaders reminded that KCR announced in the past that he will invoke PD Act in case seed companies sold spurious seeds. They demanded the Chief Minister to tell publicly as to how many cases were filed against the seed companies which sold spurious seed to the farmers.
Reminding that the TRS leaders have a habit to blame previous Congress government time and again, the TTDP leaders have asked the Chief Minister to tell whether present Ministers Jupally Krishna Rao and Nayani Narasimha Reddy were not part and parcel of the previous Congress government. They asked the TRS government to tell as to what they achieved in the last 30 months rule. “Is it not the negligence of the TRS government that it failed to give at least Rs.5,000 crore new loans to the farmers. Is it not true that 2700 farmers committed suicide in the last two years ? The government reports saying that Soya Bean crop loss in 3 lakh hectares is not true? ”, they asked.
The TRS leaders were thinking that their inefficiency will be covered by criticizing the previous governments, they pointed out alleging that the wild negligence of the government was clearly reflecting in not paying compensation to the farmers who lost their crops in Kharif season. They asked KCR to tell whether it was not true that reports were submitted by the officials concerned without examining the fields? They demanded the government to make a clear statement on crop loss in the state and said that they were releasing the eight fake seed companies’ names and asked KCR to tell whether he would invoke PD Act against them or not? They demanded the TRS government to file cases immediately under PD Act and pay compensation to the corn, soya and mirchi farmers who lost their crop immediately and also they demanded that the government release Rs.1018 crores of input subsidy and distribute it to the farmers.
They said that the TRS government released G.O.No.252 stating that the government would take up construction works to supply drinking water to 35 municipalities in the state under Mission Bhagiratha Scheme. The central government released funds to 10 municipalities and the state government was decided to take up works in the remaining 25 municipalities in collaboration of private companies and it released G.O.No.252 for the same. They asked the government to tell clearly whether it will collect the money from the people for supplying drinking water to households or not?. There was a need to discuss on it in the Assembly, they stressed. It was atrocious that the government, which chants time and again that the state was a rich one, was not in a position to release funds to the mid-day meals scheme, NREGS, they alleged. They demanded the government to abolish immediately the agreement with the private companies to take up drinking water supply. They said that the people would think that the TRS government was a business firm and will get revenue by selling drinking water. (NSS)
