Senior leaders of Telangana Telugu Desam Party met Assembly Speaker S Madhusudan Chary here on Wednesday seeking action against the MLAs who defected to the TRS.
Led by Telangana unit President L. Ramana, TDP leaders including Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Maganti Gopinath, Arikepudi Gandhi, G Sayanna and Kuna Venkatesh Goud and other MLAs met the Speaker at his residence. They sought disqualification of five MLAs who got elected on TDP ticket and later defected to the TRS. They include Talasani Srinivas Yadav (Sanathnagar), Teegala Krishna Reddy (Maheshwaram), Challa Dharma Reddy (Parakala), Manchireddy Kishan Reddy (Ibrahimpatnam) and Madhavaram Krishna Rao (Kukatpally).
The TDP leaders have accused the Speaker of making mockery of the Constitution by not taking action against the MLAs who defected to TRS from other parties. They also sought action against four Congress MLA and two YSRCP legislators. They said inaction against Talasani was a clear violation of the Constitution as he was inducted into the cabinet on December 16 despite being a TDP MLA.
Speaking to media persons later, Errabelli said that the Speaker had assured to take appropriate action soon. (INN)
