Hyderabad, September 29: Even as the Centre was keeping mum on the Telangana issue, the Telangana Rastra Samithi Chief Mr K Chandrashekar Rao made a sensational statement on Wednesday that the Centre was in favor separate Telangana State, but only hesitating on the status of Hyderabad.
In an informal chat with the media persons Mr KCR said that the MIM Chief and Hyderabad MP Assad Owaisi met him on Tuesday as the representative of the Congress high command. He said that Mr Owaisi has disclosed the Congress party’s proposals on Telangana issue. He said that the Congress has come forward with the proposal of making Hyderabad City as Union Territory. Mr KCR made it clear that there was no question of accepting Telangana without Hyderabad.
Another proposal was that of creation of Telangana state adding two Rayalaseema districts of Ananthapur and Kurnool, with the name ‘Royala Telangana’, he said and added that Mr Owaisi was in favor of this proposal. He said that he was not against this proposal and added that the number of Parliament and Legislative Assembly seats will become equal with the Seemandhra State if bifurcated in this way. He said that the Rayalaseema was not in favour of dividing from the then Madras State.
Stating that Rayalaseema people were afraid that they would not get water if the State was divided, he said that the fears will be cleared with the inclusion of Ananthapur and Kurnool districts in Telangana region. He also said that the Rayalaseema people were scared that they may lose their rights if the state was divided.
Addressing the Non-Teaching Nagara meeting held at Telangana Bhavan earlier today, Mr KCR made it clear that there was no question of accepting Telangana without Hyderabad. He said that the Centre will concede Telangana demand if the Telangana Congress leaders tendered their resignation once again. He alleged that the Seemandhra people amassed wealth in crores, but the local people remained as they were earlier. He alleged that the Seemandhra people did nothing to the Hyderabad City, except earning crores of rupees. Making it clear that Telangana will be achieved at any cost, he said that Delhi leaders were not using their heads in case of Telangana issue.
