Telangana State as a whole received 606 mm rainfall against the normal rainfall of 715 mm, which is 16 per cent deficit, upto September 2015.
This was stated in a report on Groundwater level scenario in Telangana State based on water lev els recorded from piezometers in the month of September 2015. The rainfall deviation in the districts during 2015-16 Water year (up to September 2015) shows that normal ( plus 19 per cent to minus 19 percent) was recorded in Adilabad (-18 per cent), Karimnagar (-17 %) Hyderabad (-11 %), Nalgonda (-1 %), Khammam (10 per cent) and Warangal (13 %).Deficit rainfall (-20 % to -59 %) was recorded in Nizamabad (-45%), Medak (-36%), Rangareddy (-27 %), and Mahaboobnagar (-25 %).
The report says that water level fluctuation from May to September 2015 indicates a fall in water levels in Nizamabad, Medak and parts of Ranga Reddy, Mahaboobnagar and Nalgonda districts.
