Union Minister S Jaipal Reddy today said stated that achievement of statehood to Telangana is a great victory. Addressing a meeting after unveiling a dairy of Telangana Tahasildars at Sundarayya Vignana Kendra here, he said that Telangana is only the region in India to get statehood after waging a protracted struggle for 60 years. Those who born in India can contest from any other state. Even those leaders who born in Seemandhra can contest and win elections in Telangana and become Chief Minister, Jaipal Reddy observed. Referring to Hyderabad status, he said that the people of Seemandhra are innocents. They won’t have any hallucinations on Hyderabad which is a great city for quite long time, he said. Otherwise Jai Andhra movement will not have come if Seemandhra people want to have their say on Hyderabad, the Union Minister said.
He said that no leaders are in a position to explain as to what type of losses will occur on bifurcation. Jaipal Reddy said that Hyderabadis are known for giving equal respect to all and Seemandhra people can stay here after bifurcation without any fears. He made it clear that Telangana state will not allocate land against norms. He hoped that Seemandhra businessmen invest their funds in Telangana after bifurcation. The Union Minister maintained that defence establishments will be set up as per Center’s policies. Industries related defence establishments will be set up far away from ports, he said. India does not give dual citizenship to its people as it was being done in case of the US, he added.(NSS)
