Telangana Political JAC has organized a Roundtable in the national capital to enlighten the national leaders about the Telangana movement.
Addressing the conference, JAC convener Prof. Kodandaram said their goal was achievement of Telangana State. Charging the Congress with going back on its oft-repeated promise, Prof. Kodandaram said it was shameful that people in the world’s largest democracy were being forced to lay down their precious lives for the sake of separate Telangana. He questioned the Congress as how long it proposed to cheat the people with “sweet talk”. Reiterating that people of Telangana want nothing less than separate Telangana, he urged the Centre to respect the strong sentiment at the earliest, otherwise their fight would continue till they achieve the goal.
The roundtable organized by the Telangana Political JAC was attended by national and regional parties’ leaders favouring smaller States. Leaders of BJP, TRS, Janata Party, Socialist Party, Bodo Land, JMM, Aam Aadmi, MCP, RLD, IJP, CPM New Democracy and Jammu Kashmir Panthers Party attended the meet. While Bandaru Dattatreya represented the BJP, K Kesavarao and Vivek represented TRS, K S Man and Riyaz represented RLD and Aziz Pasha represented CPI. (NSS)
