T Muslims in distress despite belonging to ruling class: Mahmood Ali

Muslims of Telangana were counted among ruling class in the past but since Hyderabad’s merger into Indian Union Muslims are on the verge of destruction during the 60 year old period of United Andhra. Muslims were forced to live a life worse than backward classes. Deputy chief minister Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali expressed these views while addressing a round table conference organised by Forum for KCR Support at Hotel Anmol.

Speaking further Mahmood Ali claimed that no political party or leadership sincerely tried to change the situation of Muslims as a result Muslims of Telangana despite belonging to ruling class faced hardships and deprivation.

Instead of planning for change in situation of Muslims, the so called Muslim institutions, parties and leadership worked upon making Muslims the target of their criticism. By giving destructive criticism instead of constructive criticism, they tried to present a distorted image of Muslim leaders belonging to various political parties which is continued even today.

He cited a photo published in an Urdu daily of the city and said that I am the deputy chief minister of the state for all communities and nations hence I have the responsibility to review the required facilities to all religions. He claimed that I go the masjid for prayer but my visit to temple and churches is an official visit. As deputy chief minister I have to take stock of the issues faced by all religions.
