Telangana Ministers are an elated lot as the Assembly and Council wound up the process of debating the Telangana Draft Bill. They flayed Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for indulging in ‘useless and meaningless’ tactics to prevent the bifurcation through a notice against constitutional norms. Minister K Jana Reddy addressed a media conference at Congress Legislature Party office along with DK Aruna, Sunitha Lakshma Reddy, Geetha Reddy, Sridhar Babhu, R Damodar Reddy, R Venkat Reddy, P Sudershan Reddy, Utham Kumar Reddy, Chief Whip G Venkatramana Reddy and others. He stated that the bill will be passed in just seven days or so as the Center is firm on giving statehood. Jana said that Speaker N Manohar read it out that only views of the house will be sent to the President Pranab Mukherjee. Though a propaganda on resolution against bifurcation is on it will not prevent bifurcation he said and slammed Kiran for belittling the constitution and President in this regard. On Kiran’s defiance and comments against the bill he said that the high command may look into it besides allowing him to continue in the party.
Allaying fears of students and youth of the region on the statehood, he made it clear that the bill has nothing to do with the resolution and voting sought by Kiran Reddy. Since both the houses have completed the debate as per President Pranab Mukherjee’s directive through voice vote Speaker will be send views of the house to the President for further procedures to carve out Telangana state.
Resolution will not have any adverse affect on bill as the Center will take care of the issue to accord statehood in February, he said. He exuded confidence that the UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will keep their promise of the statehood soon.
AICC State Affairs in charge Digvijay Singh maintained that the houses have completed their legislature procedures on Telangana bill and the center will take up the rest of the course on passing the bill in Parliament. Besides, Digvijay said that resolution will not hamper the bill for according statehood, Jana Reddy added.
In 2014 T state will face elections he said. He found fault with the Chief Minister for trying to hoodwink the Seemandhra people who will come to know that T state is a historical compulsion.
The Seemandhra leaders cannot deceive their people instead put in efforts as to what they can do for the residual state of Andhra Pradesh after bifurcation.
Sridhar Babu maintained that the Center has seized of the matter and statehood is a reality soon. He criticized Kiran Reddy and Seemandhra leaders for adopting nefarious designs against the statehood defying the high command. He accused the Chief Minister of pressing for a resolution to stall the debate. (NSS)
