Hyderabad, December 13:Former minister R Damodar Reddy has said that a meeting will be convened soon in the city to thank AICC president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for initiating the process of Telangana State formation.
Speaking to reporters here today, he said that the date and venue of the meeting would be decided soon.
He said that all the public representatives of Congress from sarpanch to
minister would participate in the meeting.
Meanwhile, former home minister K Jana Reddy once again appealed to the Andhra and Rayalaseema people to maintain restraint. He also urged the MLAs to reconsider their resignations. The Congress MLAs from Andhra and
Rayalaseem should not give scope to misconceptions and stick to the earlier CLP resolution favouring Telangana. He said that it was not good on the part of the the Congress MLAs from other than Telangana to deviate from the CLP’s
decision.
He demanded that the Congress high command expedite the process of formation of Telangana State. Any delay would lead to unnecessary misgivings, he cautioned. He declared that they would not accept second SRC for Telangana.
The second SRC, if set up, should look into the demands for other States, he said.
