T martyrs statue to be unveiled at Saroornagar Indoor stadium today

Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy would inaugurate Telangana Martyrs’ Statue at Saroor Nagar Indoor Stadium on Tuesday i.e. Telangana State Formation Day.

Ranga Reddy district Collector M Raghunandan Rao has stated that the statue was being prepared by famous artist Ekka Yadagiri Rao. A woman singing songs on martyrs’ sacrifices carrying a ‘Thambura’ by sitting on a stone was the statue to be inaugurated by the Transport Minister. The statue is 6ft 9 inch tall and would be placed on the premises of the Indoor Stadium in 44X37 feet area. The RR district Collector said the martyrs’ statue was prepared as Rangareddy district martyrs statue.

The Collector said Ekka Yadagiri Rao prepared this statue to remember the martyrs, who lost their lives during 1969 Telangana movement. He also explained that the statue reflects that the woman is expressing her happiness in the form of music for creating separate Telangana State and it also reflects the determination and consistent fight of the people on the occasion of first formation day celebrations. The Gunpark statue is a reflection of sacrifices and movement but the Saroor Nagar’s woman statue is a reflection of united strength, self-confidence and sensitive heart, the Collector added. (NSS)
