T leaders ready for any sacrifice to achieve T state

Hyderabad, February 11: Leaders of Congress and Telangana Rashtra Samiti tonight asserted that they were ready for any sacrifice if case the terms of reference for the Srikrishna Committee constituted by the Centre were not favourable.

Talking to reporters after consultations with Congress leaders at the residence of Congress Working Committee member K Keshav Rao, MP Telangana Rashtra Samiti President K Chandrasekar Rao, MP, said, ”We are ready to make any sacrifice to achieve our long-cherished goal of a separate Telangana state”.

Echoing Mr KCR’s views, senior Congress leader and former state Minister R Damodar Reddy ”we will not hesitate to resign if the terms of reference are not satisfactory”.

Senior Parliamentarians and legislators from the region were huddled together to consider various options before them, including boycotting the Budget session of the State Assembly, TRS party sources said.

Leaders of both the parties opined that this was the most opprtune time to press their demand with both Parliament and the State Assembly slated to meet later this month for the respective budget sessions, the sources added.

Peeved at the ”delay” in announcement of the terms of reference for the Srikrishna Comittee constituted to look into the Telangana issue, the TRS had already announced that its legislators would not hestitate the budget session of the state Assembly if the terms of reference were not not announced till then.
