Telangana lady ministers today met with Speaker N Manohar and they reported to have urged him to ensure the smooth functioning of the house to wind up the debate on Telangana Draft Bill by Jan 24.
Ministers J Geetha Reddy, DK Aruna and Sunitha Lakshma Reddy met the speaker this evening when the house was adjourned for five minutes around 4 pm when the proceedings in the house were disrupted when TRS members took on the TD leaders for making a hue and cry on Minister Balaraju’s comments that Telugu Desam Party Chief N Chandrababu Naidu was adopting dual standards on Telangana statehood issue.
They are understood to have asked the Speaker to complete the process of debate on the bill before the deadline ends on January 24. Their meeting assumes significance as the mood of the house was that the Center may not extend time for debate beyond the given deadline.(NSS)
