T-JAC will not become a political part, But it will continue: Kodandaram

Telangana JAC chairman Prof Kodandaram has made it clear on Saturday that the T-JAC is not a political party and it cannot become so. He added that the T-JAC will continue to exist and it will play a key role in the reconstruction of Telangana state.

Speaking to the media after a meeting of the JAC, he said that peoples’ organizations by nature could not become political parties. He also made it clear that it was not his intention to belittle political parties, and added that the peoples’ organization would act as a catalyst between the people and the political parties. At the same time, Prof Kodandaram said that it would be good if leaders of movements entered politics and the political parties should provide suitable place to the movement leaders.

Stating that they have not discussed the role to be played by the TJAC in the coming elections, he said that within two days, the JAC would formulate its future course of action. From March 11, they would organize victory meetings, he added.

Prof Kodandaram said that Polavaram submergence villages issue was not related only to Telangana, but it is a problem pertaining to all Adivasis. He demanded that appointed date (for separate state formation) should be announced without further delay. The T-JAC would fight to ensure that no injustice was done to the region, he said.

The JAC Chairman said that though they were opposed to President’s rule in the State, they are supporting it as it became inevitable. He alleged that Kiran Kumar Reddy and other Seemandhra leaders were responsible for imposition of President’s Rule in the State. (NSS)
