T-Heat for Jagan

Hyderabad, June 14: Jagan was made to return from his ‘Odarpu Yatra’ in Telangana as he has supported the United Andhra concept in the Parliament earlier. TRS cadres have attacked Jagan and ensured that he was arrested and packed back. After this, Jagan never stepped on the Telangana soil (excepting Hyderabad).

Jagan avoided going into the complex regionalism and concentrated on launching the party and building its structure. While he remained silent on Telangana, he made his followers Konda Surekha and Gone Prakasa Rao talk in favour of Telangana, giving an impression to the people that Jagan also favoured Telangana formation. He has however ensured that his hands would not become dirty. As his followers have taken a pro-Telangana stance, Jagan has started trials to build his party in the region.

However, protagonists of Telangana who want him to clearly state his stand have given him a shock during the ‘Sagu Poru’ of his party on Tuesday. In Warangal Telangana protagonists and students have prevented YSR Congress leaders from launching their Saagu Poru agitation. YSR Congress men instead of handling the issue tactfully have shown aggression and attacked them. With this, the situation has taken a serious turn. In Warangal Telangana leaders and students have started an agitation protesting against the attack of YSR Congress men on them. It led to even police lathi charge on Wednesday. Now Telangana leaders are making plans to spread this agitation against YSR cong all over the Telangana region. In this backdrop, it would be difficult for Jagan’s party to survive in the Telangana region, say political analysts.

Taking a pro-Telangana stand is the only option before Jagan to overcome this problem.

However, there appears to be no likelihood of Jagan taking such a stand. If he says he was for Telangana, he would face difficulties in Seemandhra region. Telangana people would not trust if he takes a two-eye stand like Chandra Babu. This is what is probably called to be” between the devil and the deep sea”.
