Hyderabad, September 26: Describing 48 hours Rail Roko observed in Telangana region a big success, Telangana Political Joint Action Committee Chairman Prof M Kodandaram on Sunday stated that the agitation has mounted pressure on the Centre for announcing its decision on Telangana state.
Talking to media persons, Kodandaram said that although people have appealed the JAC to extend the ‘Rail Roko’ agitation, it has been not extended especially in view of festival season. However, he hinted that the Rail Roko would be again resumed in future. He said that the TPJAC would meet in a day or two to discuss future course of action to be adopted on the Telangana agitation.
Meanwhile, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday convened a meeting with Prof Kodandaram and Telangana Employees JAC chairman Swamy Goud at his residence to review the outcome and status of 13 days of employees’ general strike and 48 hour Rail Roko agitation. According to sources, KCR discussed the future course of action to be adopted to achieve Telangana State.
Meanwhile, as part of extending solidarity to employees’ general strike, the Telangana employees in small and medium enterprises and Public sector undertakings gave a call to observe bandh on Monday.
