T Govt. & Cong. to Celebrate PV’s Birth Anniversary

The Telangana Government would celebrate the birth anniversary of late Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao here on June 28. The TRS government had celebrated late Congress stalwart’s birth anniversary last year too, soon after formation of the new state. Narasimha Rao was born in Karimnagar district, on June 28, 1921. The official function would be held at ‘P V Gyan Bhoomi’ on the banks of Hussain Sagar Lake on Necklace Road, a government release said.

Recalling Narasimha Rao’s contribution to the country, Chief Minister K Chandrasekar Rao said it was a matter of pride for Telangana that the former Prime Minister was a son of the soil. Hailing Narasimha Rao as a great administrator and litterateur, the Chief Minister said he had found a unique position in history. He said that it was a pride for Telangana that PV, who was known to be ‘father of economical reforms’ in India, belongs to Telangana.
Telangana and Andhra Pradesh units of Congress too would jointly organise a function here tomorrow to mark Narasimha Rao’s birth anniversary. PV, in his long political career, had been the Congress president too.
AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh, in-charge of Congress affairs in Telangana and AP, would attend the function organised by the party. (NSS)
