The TRS Government is committed to providing permanent shelter for the poor in the state, Minister for Forests and welfare Jogu Ramanna said.
The minister paid a visit to Attapur forest area wherein some lands were illegally occupied. He sought to know about the encroachments and asked the officials to initiate necessary measures to recover the encroached lands. Speaking on the occasion, Ramanna maintained that the government’s objective is to provide housing facility to the poor and deprived classes. The Government will take over the lands of revenue or forest department for the purpose. The poor will get housing facility at their existing places, he said.
A plan is being prepared for construction of the houses as per the new housing policy of the government, he said. The Government is ready to provide the poor with two bed room houses and all other facilities, the minister said. There is no dearth of funds for the purpose, he added.(NSS)
