T-government signed Mou with MoHUPA

Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation (MoHUPA) planning to introduce a new scheme called ‘Housing for All by 2022’, the Telangana government has intended to take up quite a few housing projects in public-private partnership (PPP) mode for lower income groups (LIG) and economically weaker sections (EWS) families in the State.
The housing shortage in Telangana is reported to be high.

The TRS government wants every family to have a pucca house with water connection, 24×7 electricity supplies and toilet facilities access by the time the nation completes 75 years of its independence.

Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration (CDMA) has written letters to Commissioners of Warangal, Karimnagar, Ramagundam, Khammam, Nizamabad, Adilabad and Nalgonda Municipal Corporations and also to the urban local bodies to send a proposal on different types of housing strategy to be implemented for different types of tenure.

According to CDMA officials said, MoHUPA has stepped forward to support the state governments to bridge the gap in slum redevelopment through PPP mode for cross subsidisation.

The Housing for All mission to have four distinct components – affordable housing through interest subvention, slum redevelopment, rental housing for migrants, housing for urban destitute and homeless.
