While the Telangana Congress MPs asserted that there was no differences among them, the very fact that one of them did not attend a meeting held today belied this claim.
A meeting of the T Congress MPs was held this morning at the residence of former Rajya Sabha member K. K. Kesava Rao to chalk out their future course of action in the wake of the central Congress leadership delaying the formation of Telangana sate on the plea of some more consultations.
After the meeting Kesava Rao informed that seven T MPs had forwarded their resignations to the AICC President Sonia Gandhi. The resignations were sent in Speaker’s format. Except the Nizamabad MP Madhu Yashki the other six MPs had signed on the resignation letters.
This again speaks of the fact that there was difference of opinion among the MPs.
It might be mentioned here that after the central Congress Spokesperson P. C . Chacko reiterated that the Congress was in favour of a separate Telangana state, However, since the various constitutional process have to be worked out, it was taking some time for making an announcement, Chacko had informed.
Kesava Rao pointed out that Chacko’s latest announcement was welcomed by all as there seems to be some positive sign about the central leadership in the formation of Telangana state. However despite this signal from the centre, the T MPs have decided to resign to mount pressure to complete the statehood process at the earliest. Except for Madhu Yashki who deferred about the resignation, all the other six had resigned the resignation letters and sent to the AICC President. He also pointed out that earlier when the MPs had sent in their resignations to the Lok Sabha Speaker, they were rejected. Hence, the letters were now dispatched to the AICC President .
Reiterating that they were all committed on the stand of separate Telangana, Kesava Rao said their agiation for the purpose would continue till the goal is achieved. Another MP Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy said that their resignations was not intended join any other political party as was falsely propagated. Till their resignations arfe accepted, they would continue to be in Congress and rel;entlessy fdight for T state.
While Gutha Sukender Reddy and P:onnam Prabhakar were busy with some personal engagements and had expressed their regrets for not attending today’s meeting, Madhu Yashki is the only one who stayed away from the meeting as he deferred with the move of resigning.(NSS).
