TRS MLA from Station Ghanpur Dr T. Rajaiah has lamented that Telangana Congress MPs were only raising ‘Jai Telangana’ slogan in the region but not doing so in New Delhi.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Sunday, Rajaiah demanded that the Congress MPs announce their action plan on separate Telangana before Presidential election if they are sincere on separate State. Demanding that the Centre announce its clear stand on separate State, Dr Rajaiah asked the MPs to mount pressure on the Union government in this regard. He also warned that if the MPs failed to pressurize the Centre on Telangana issue, the TJC and civil societies’ organizations would lay siege to houses of the MPs.
Dr Rajaiah charged the Bharatiya Janata Party with plotted to split Telangana vote in Parakala by-election. Alleging that YSRC leader Konda Surekha had tried to derail Telangana sentiment by distributing money, cotton seed and gold articles to woo the voters, the latter did not believe her and defeated her in the by-election.
Rajaiah also demanded that TDP Telangana Forum convener Errabelli Dayakar Rao mount pressure on his party supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu to write a letter to the Union Home Ministry in favour of separate Telangana State. He opined that if Dayakar Rao failed to convince Chandrababu Naidu to issue pro-Telangana statement, the TDP would remain extinct in the region. (NSS)
