Several Congress MLAs from the Telangana region have met the AICC general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad and requested him not to replace the Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy.
It is learnt that some 25 MLAs led by Kichennagari Lakshma Reddy have been camping in the capital and going round meeting party leaders, holding brief for Kiran Kumar Reddy.
It is learnt that they have represented to Azad that Kiran’s Indiramma Baata was strengthening the party and his efforts to take the welfare schemes to the doorsteps of people were also yielding results and it would be detrimental to the party’s interests to replace him at this juncture.
However speaking to the media later, they said they only asked for Telangana and nothing else. Pratap, one of the Mas said that Kiran was ruling the state well and he was helping the state and the Congress through the Indiramma Baata and taking welfare schemes to the people. (NSS)
