T. Congress Leaders Firm On Separate State: Jana

Panchayat Raj Minister K. Jana Reddy has asserted that the Telangana Congress leaders did not go back on the demand of separate Telangana State. He said he was sparing no efforts for achievement of separate State.

Speaking to the media after a meeting with Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy on Thursday, Jana Reddy exuded confidence that separate Telangana State would be achieved. He opined that the Telangana Political JAC’s proposed ‘Sadak Bandh’ program was an example to the spirit of democracy. He said the political JAC was utilizing its democratic right. He also made it clear that protest meetings and agitations would continue unabated till separate State was achieved.

Stating that the government would conduct local body elections, Jana Reddy said he was not in a position to predict when they would be held. He also made it clear that the PR elections could be held in the old pattern and there should not be any misconceptions in this regard. (NSS)
