Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N Uttam Kumar Reddy has directed the Congress leaders to mobilise funds for distribution among the families of farmers who committed suicide.
The TPCC chief has written a letter to all the Congress leaders asking them to make personal contributions and also mobilise funds from other resources for the purpose. The mobilised funds are likely to be distributed among the families of deceased farmers during the visit of AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi in the second week of this month.
Meanwhile, speaking to media persons in Assembly premises on Monday, Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy has announced his contribution of Rs 1 lakh towards monetary help to the distressed farmers. He said all Congress leaders, especially the legislators, have been mobilising funds for this purpose. (INN)
