T Congress Activists to Meet on May 26

Telangana Rashtra Congress Activists’ convener Dr M. Sridhar Reddy has said a convention of Telangana Congress leaders and activists would be held here on May 26 with “creation of Telangana Congress party” as the main agenda.

Speaking to media persons here on Friday, Dr Sridhar Reddy said there will be no development in Telangana till a separate Telangana State was granted by the Union Government. Alleging that the people of the Telangana region would not get justice as long as the present ministers and MPs in the Congress party remain in office, Dr Reddy felt the formation of Telangana Congress party was the only answer.

He said the Telangana Congress activists’ meeting to be held on May 26 to decide Dasha, Disha (phase and direction) of the movement for separate State would ultimately announce formation of separate Telangana Congress party. Dr Reddy further alleged that the Andhra leaders have taken away Pothireddipadu, Pulichintala, Polavaram tenders, Bayyaram iron ore even as the Telangana Congress leaders remained silent spectators.

Sridhar Reddy, who played an important role in the 1969 Telangana movement, said Andhra chief ministers ruled the State for 50 years in the 57 years old Andhra Pradesh. He likened the Andhras’ rule as modern East India Company. Dr Reddy has appealed to all the Telangana Congress activists to attend the meeting in large numbers and make it total success. (NSS)
