The Telangana Congress leaders on Thursday demanded that the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) modify the job notifications to ensure that candidates are selected only on the basis of merit.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here, former MLA Sudhir Reddy ad former minister G Prasad Kumar pointed out that for Group-II selections, 75 out of 100 marks were being earmarked for interviews. He said this would allow selection of candidates through recommendations. Stating that the new system would encourage corruption, they demanded that the all candidates should be selected only on the basis of merit. They asked the State Government to restore the old practice of recruitment adopted during Kiran Kumar Reddy Government.
The Congress leaders also demanded that the government fulfill its promise of providing one lakh jobs. They alleged that by providing a little over 15,000 jobs, the TRS Government is trying to mislead the people. (INN)
