Telangana Congress leader Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy today demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao pay attention to emergency health services and law and order to protect women and girls.
Addressing the media at Congress Legislature Party office here, Sudhakar Reddy alleged that due to lack of fuel to 108 vehicles of the government were failing to cater to the needs of patients. He asked the TRS government to take immediate steps to restore the vehicles and ensure speedy medical services to the people.
Ponguleti also condemned the alleged rape incident at Dubbaka in Medak district and asked the government to punish the guilty and invigorate the police department. Stating that Telangana Government ought to get Central funds of about Rs 10,000 crores, he said the funds were going into AP head, he alleged. The CM should take immediate steps in this regard and give clarity on Rs 1460 crore JICA funds of welfare. He also sought an inquiry into alleged irregularities of Rs 1,000 crore into Rs 1- a-kg rice scheme. The Congress leader accused some officials and millers of colluding with each other to loot the rice of PDS.
MAHARASHTRA CAMPAIGN
Ponguleti said he would leave for Maharashtra for election campaigning on October 5. He said he will address a few campaigns along with former MP Ponnam Prabhakar in Maharashtra.
It may be mentioned the AICC asked the Congress leaders to participate in the election campaigning in Telugu populated areas like Bhiwandi, Lathur, Sholapur and other areas. (NSS)
