Telangana Congress MPs Forum convener Ponnam Prabhakar on Tuesday stated that the MPs from the Telangana region would meet in Hyderabad on Wednesday to chalk out future course of action to be adopted to achieve separate Telangana state.
Talking to media persons after meeting Congress observer Vayalar Ravi at Gandhi Bhavan, Ponnam Prabhakar said that after the meeting, the MPs would brief Vayalar Ravi over the importance of taking a decision on separate Telangana in order to save the party in the region. He said that the MPs would discuss on honouring the promises given to Telangana people over the separate statehood issue and take steps towards mounting pressure on the High Command to take a favourable decision on bifurcation of state.
Apart from this, he said that the MPs would also discuss the latest situation in the Telangana including the suicides of students, party debacle in the recent by-elections and setting of deadline by Telangana Political Joint Action committee to make their stand clear on the issue.
He said that the MPs would make it clear to Vayalar Ravi that the favourable decision on Telangana would enhance the party’s winning chances in the ensuing by-elections.
