Hyderabad, August 26: The Congress MLCs from the Telangana region have appealed to the party leaders to abide by the decisions of party high command, lest those defying the party diktat would have to face serious consequences.
Speaking to mediapersons at the Congress Legislature Party office here on Wednesday, the Congress MLC, Mr Banuprasad, said that every Congress leader should work in conformity with guidelines issued by the All India Congress Committee president, Ms Sonia Gandhi.
The MLC, Mr D. Rajeshwara Rao, has appealed to the State government to withdraw the cases filed against the Osmania University students so that they can prepare for the Group I examinations without any tension.
Ms Pulla Padmavathi said that the high command has not given a clear stand on the Odarpu Yatra being organized by the Kadapa MP, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy as it was his personal. She said that Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy and she (Padmavathi) were working under the leadership of Ms Sonia Gandhi. She asserted that Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy would not leave the Congress party.
Mr Amos said that the Union ministers have no authority to announce the party’s decisions as the party has adequate number of spokespersons to disclose the party decisions.
Stating that the Telangana leaders were coming forward jointly to talk on the Telangana issue, Mr Indrasena Reddy hoped that rest of the members would come to discuss the problems of the Telangana region.
The MLCs, Mr Rajalingam, Mr M.S. Prabhakar and others were also present at the meeting.
