Hyderabad, Aug.7 (NSS): Condemning the statement of the Seemandhra ministers dubbing the protagonists of Telangana as traitors of the nation, the Telangana Congress leaders refuted the charge and described the Seemandhra ministers as mentally retarded persons. Reminding the ministers that they took oath in the name of Constitution, the Telangana leaders said that according to the Seemandhra ministers, even the Union Home Minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, who made an announcement on December 9 last, too a betrayer.
Speaking at the media point on the Assembly premises on Saturday, the senior Congress leader, Mr Palvai Govardhan Reddy said that the stand of the Seemandhra ministers was atrocious and they should change their opinion on the issue of bifurcation of the state.
Lashing out at the former chief minister and TDP Chief, Mr Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Mr Goverdhan Reddy said that Mr Naidu, who already deceived the people of Telangana, was trying to deceive them once again by taking up Babli Yatra. He said that Mr Chandrababu should have taken up the Inchampally project, which had all clearances including Maharashtra, instead of the Devadula project if he was sincere towards the region.
Mr Reddy also alleged that Mr Naidu has become mentally retarded person by 75 percent after losing the by-elections. He further said that the former chief minister was talking like notorious Khasim Rizvi by saying that how will one react if North and South Telangana regions want separate States. Even the erstwhile British Raj made an amendment to the law that one has to take opinion of the people who want to get separated but not from those who opposed to separation.
Another senior leader, Mr K R Amose, said that all leaders have to sit together and discuss about the injustices meted out to a particular region when they want to remain united. Urging the Seemandhra leaders to keep silent till the Justice Srikrishna Committee submits its report to the Centre, Mr Amose firmly said that there was no compromise on the formation of Telangana State. He also demanded that the Centre sack the RBI Governor, Mr Duvvuri Subba Rao, for making adverse comments on the Chief Minister, Mr K Rosaiah.
The AICC secretary and MLC, Mr Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, said that it was unfortunate to say that demanding Telangana was national betrayal by the Seemandhra ministers.
Condemning Mr Chandrababu Naidu for launching ‘dharna’ at Tirupati demanding cleansing of the TTD, Mr Ponguleti said that Mr Naidu’s dharna was politically motivated. He pointed out that already the Congress party had demanded an inquiry into the TTD issue.
