The Telangana Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader K Jana Reddy today strongly objected to the stoppage of some news channels by Telangana MSOs across the State.
Speaking to the media at CLP Office here, Jana Reddy said that the stoppage of signals of two news channels was a revenge taking action. It was nothing but attack on freedom of the press.
The Telangana MSOs taking a decision to stop the two channels much before the decision of the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly was not proper. Some forces were threatening the MSOs in the name of Cable Regulation Act, he alleged. Asking the media to observe self restrictions, he felt that it was not good to any system to cross its limits.
Finding fault with the decision of the Andhra Pradesh government to cancel the Power Purchase Agreements, he said that the A P government should act as per the PPAs. The two states, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, should settle the issue amicably without going on egos.
