Paying full attention on strengthening the party in Hyderabad city particularly in view of the ensuing GHMC elections, the State govt approved Housing policy for successful implementation of its flagship 2-bedroom houses for weaker sections.
The constructions would be taken up under Open Bidding method. The Government decided to construct houses on a big scale for urban poor in Hyderabad and Warangal cities.
In the first phase, 1,000 houses will be constructed with each unit costing Rs. 7.5 lakh. This will have all basic amenities.
The nearly two and half hour meeting deliberated extensively on housing scheme. Rao told ministers to ensure at least 500 houses are built in each Assembly Constituency this year.
The Cabinet took crucial decisions relating to the Revenue department including abolition of Land Grabbing Trial tribunal and adoption of amendments of Land Grabbing Act.
Referring to the regularisation of encroached government lands, the TRS government decided to give pattas to weaker sections (who applied under GO-58 scheme) from June 2 onwards.
