Telangana Government today brought private schools under tax net and asked the concerned managements pay tax avoiding penalties. Commercial Department directed the private schools to pay taxes towards the huge sale of uniforms, stationery and related materials.
In a press release here the officials said that all private schools come under tax net as they sale in bulk the stationery, uniforms and related items. The managements should pay taxes by September else will face action, they warned. The schools are floating the norms on the sales of uniforms, stationery items, books, badges, belts and other materials. Though adequate stalls are being opened at the beginning of the academic year, the schools are violating the tax norms, they said. Circulating some proforma the officials asked the managements to ensure timely returns of the taxes. (NSS)
