Telangana Auto Drivers Joint Action Committee has demanded that the Transport Commissioner initiate action against RTA officials for granting 144 permissions for purchase of new autos to wrong persons.
On Friday, the Committee led by Mohd Amanullah Khan, convener of JAC, met the Transport Commissioner Sundeep Sultania and complained that RTA officials issued auto permits to undeserving persons.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, the Committee members said the Commissioner assured justice to auto drivers and stern action against the RTA officials, who indulged in corrupt practices and issued proceedings for purchase of 144 out of 5942 auto rickshaws. Following Commissioner’s assurance, the proposed auto drivers protest dharna on April 25 at Transport Bhavan was put off.
