Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy today said Telangana is likely to attend an exhibition of Agriculture and allied industries to be held at Israel next April.
Speaking to mediapersons here after returning from his Gujarat tour, Pocharam said the meeting discussed various issues related to better farm practices that would yield better crops and fetch improved income. The meet emphasized on the latest farm practices across the world and need to downsize the use of fertilizers instead of organic fertilizers.
The meeting attended by 100 countries focused on farmers’ issues on the whole and opined that the government should extend a helping hand to increase production. “Since the nation is largely dependent on agrarian sector, we need to encourage in a big way the farm sector, the meeting felt, he said. He also said the meeting appreciated the TRS Government for offering incentives to farm sector. The Gujarat meet extended an invitation to a team of Telangana Government to visit Israel Expo and “we are looking forward for the same”, he said. The minister maintained that he portrayed in the meeting about future plans of the government to boost the farm sector. (NSS)
